Design Validation in Progress
It’s been a busy week!
We had our second weekend of demo days and WOW is it November? I could have almost been wearing shorts out there. :-D
Thank you so much to all of you who provided feedback and took a look at the Alpha Leash. Lots of support and that always helps the motivation!
Design Development
We are heavily into the design refinement portion.
This includes durability and design validation testing to ensure that the Alpha Leash is durable and long lasting. The first part of which is fully documenting the function and potential failure modes of each component in the design,
along with a detailed test plan and schedule. Which are about 80% complete, which means 50 pages detailing the Alpha Leash design.
And on the more exciting side (for those of you who aren’t engineers ;-D ) our durability test rig parts have started to arrive, including a very powerful servo motor, which made our Instagram this week, it really is that big and it has to be, to simulate the bigger dogs out there!
Also, on the design side we are 80% done the ergonomic review of the current design. This will provide valuable feedback on where we can improve the comfort and feel of the leash grip and brake handle.
We also have our 3 initial demo leashes out in the real world providing invaluable practical feedback to us as well. With several issues that have just been resolved

Next Week
For the upcoming weeks we will be focusing on the assembly and programing of the test rig so that we can get the durability part of our design validation underway.
We will also be updating the handle and brake handle designs per the ergonomic study recommendations and more Demo days, if the weather permits (it does get cold just standing and talking, believe me! :-D )
