The Alpha Leash retractable pet leash (including all parts) is warranted for a period of TWO years from the date of purchase to be free from defects in materials and workmanship as originally suppled by the manufacturer.

This Limited Warranty is extended only to the original purchaser. In the event of a defect, please contact our support team to arrange a return and replacement. This Limited Warranty will not apply to broken, damaged, or frayed leash tapes or other parts of the leash caused by pet chewing, rough surfaces, or other misuse or abuse.

When we developed the ALPHA Leash, safety was always our number one priority. During our early testing we found that leash cords were hard to see and got twisted and knotted up over time. Because of this we elected for a tape style leash. This style of leash ensures better visibility for you and others, and that the leash’s retraction will always be smooth and consistent.

When we developed the ALPHA Leash, safety was always our number one priority. During the initial design of the leash, we did extensive research on leash related injuries to better understand the accidents occurring with currently available leashes. AND PLEASE read the instructions before using the ALPHA leash, like any other technology it has to be used properly.

The initial product launch is limited to a medium size leash for pets weighing less then 55 lbs (25 kg).

HOWEVER, a LARGE leash, for pets weighing up to 110 lbs, and a SMALL leash, for pets weighing up to 35 lbs will be available in future. Please email us with the size you are looking for and we will let you know as soon as they become available!

The ALPHA Leash is available in Black, Mellow Yellow and Deep Ocean, as well as NEON editions in Black and Mellow Yellow.

The ALPHA Leash has been designed and built to last for years of daily use! We know this because we have tested the leash through thousands of brake cycles both on our bench tester (Maximus) and through our real-world Beta testers (thanks guys!).

The ALPHA Leash has been designed, engineered and built to be maintenance free! Durability was a major requirement of the original design. The leash has been tested the leash through thousands of braking cycles both on our bench tester (Maximus) and through our real world Beta testers (thanks guys!). However, if you do have any issues with your leash please contact us, and DO NOT attempt to open the leash. The stored energy of the leash tape return spring can harm you and others if you open the casing.

The ALPHA Leash is designed to stop retracting when ever the leash tape is not approximately lined up with the leash casing, by about 75° to the left or right of center. To continue the retracting of your leash tape simply bring the angle closer to the center line of the leash, pull the tape out slightly and the tape will continue to smoothly retract into the leash. This safety feature helps to prevent injuries if the leash tape retracts too quickly. Please also see the "What happens if the leash tape gets twisted" FAQ.

The leash tape can, in very rare circumstances, get twisted inside the Alpha Leash casing. This twist can cause issues with how smoothly the leash tape retracts. If this does occur please do the following.

First of all BE VERY CAREFUL with the following method. When the leash tape is pulled out there is stored energy in the leash that can cause serious injuries. Please READ the INSTRUCTIONS before following this method.

With your hand on the handle and ready to apply the brake at ALL TIMES start to pull the leash tape out of the leash casing. Continue pulling the leash tape out of casing until you find the twist or the entire leash tape has been pulled out of the leash (you will see the red indicator colour strip facing upwards at the end of the leash). Then SLOWLY and CAREFULLY let the leash back into the casing and the leash tape twist will have been removed.

The Leash Spinner allows your pet to spin around without twisting the leash tape. It easily attaches to most leashes and uses low friction ball bearings and all weather stainless steel construction. We invented this accessory to help ensure your leash tape doesn't get twisted up and cause retraction issues.

If you have any leash tape retraction issues becuase of a twisted leash tape you need this accessory!

Make sure you fully squeeze the brake handle FIRST before you apply the Leash Lock. Applying the brake first ensures that you have smoothly stopped your pet BEFORE applying the leash lock. HOWEVER, if you are having continued problems with the Leash Lock on your ALPHA Leash please contact us so that we can make things right.

We recommend cleaning the casing of the ALPHA Leash with a clean damp cloth.

And for leashes with white details we recommend using a dampened Magic Eraser to remove any stubborn dirt. However, be careful to ONLY use the Magic Eraser on the white handle and switch, as it can scratch and damage the leash casing.

Finally, once the tape is dry, clip the leash securely onto a stationary object. Then, holding the leash firmly, release the leash lock and slowly walk towards the leash clip until the leash is fully retracted.

Unclip the leash and you are ready for lots more pet walking adventures!

The leash is water resistant, HOWEVER, we recomened that you do not use the ALPHA Leash in the rain or in wet weather conditions. This is because the nylon tape absorbs water, which, when it retracts back into the leash can cause internal damage.

Second, take the wet part of the tape out of the leash and then apply the leash lock button. 

Third, put the leash and extended tape in a safe and dry place AWAY from pets and children so that the tape can air dry.
Finally, once the tape is dry make sure that the leash is still clipped securely to a stationary object and that the leash is taught between the object and the leash. Then, holding the leash firmly, release the leash lock and slowly walk towards the leash clip until the leash is fully retracted.
Unclip the leash and you are ready for lots more pet walking adventures!

It's easy. Gently squeeze the handle and the brake will apply just like the brakes on your car or bicycle. A gentle squeeze will slow down your pet gradually, a harder squeeze will slow you pet down faster.

One of the benefits of the ALPHA Leash is the leash length warning. That's the red strip you see on the tape as it fully extends! It signals that there is only 2 ft (0.6m) of leash left stored in the retracting mechanism.

AFTER the Brake Handle is fully applied, to the Leash extending, the Leash Lock can be engaged by pressing down on the Leash Lock Switch with your thumb. When applied the Leash Lock prevents the Leash from further extension or retraction.

To disengage the Leash Lock, MAKE SURE you squeeze the Brake Handle first and then move the Leash Lock Switch back up. Applying the brake ensures that you have control of the leash tape's return speed at all times so that it does not return to quickly which can cause serious injuries to you and others.

Do not use your ALPHA Leash if you see any significant damage to the leash tape. The ALPHA Leash's return mechanism stores a lot of energy and if the leash tape disconnects from your pet, the leash tape will return quickly enough to hurt you and others. Moreover, the tape will disappear into the casing, never to be found again.
