Beta Testing

It’s been a long time, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy!

Plastic part final development

Over the Autumn we reached out to various plastic injection mold suppliers who would produce the leash casing and other internal parts. We found several great companies and worked with them to optimize these parts to ensure that they can be reliably produced. This then translated into having to re-test the Alpha Leash to ensure that these changes did not compromise its strength and durability. And after 2 months of testing all the work has been verified.

Real Life Testing

We were then ready to take our testing to the next level. Getting our prototype leashes into the hands of real life dogs.. and people. Beta testing.

But this required more then just printing and assembling leashes. We needed liability insurance to cover our testers, which in turn required incorporation. So we put our tools down and got stuck into some paperwork.

And with some great support from Good Lawyer and Adele Read from ARC Insurance & Financial Services Alpha Leash is now Alpha Leash Inc., and we are fully covered for real world beta testing!

And with some additional pages added to the website to help support our beta testers we now have 2 Alpha Leashes testing and 2 more ready to go.

Next steps

With testing ongoing we are still patiently waiting to hear about our patent application. It does take a while, however, in January we were notified of being fully registered. So the next step will be being assigned a patent reviewer and the patent review and approval process will move on from there.

Which gives us time to put on our Sales Associate hats! With every successful Kickstarter campaign comes lots of leg work. From showing off the product where ever we can, to working with influencers as well as various media outlets it takes a ton of work to be successfully funded!

And with that I’m getting back to doing just that. Hope everyone is staying safe!
